What is telemedicine?
Telemedicine, e-visits, virtual health visits, and online doctors are basically means of communicating with a doctor via use of today modern technology. Instead of seeing the doctor at the clinic we are able to communicate with the doctor via the use of telephone, computers. It is making it convenient for everyone to see a doctor more conveniently and save time from our busy schedules to make speak over the phone, video visit, text or even email.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic it has popularized the use of telemedicine. It was making it hard for staff and providers to safely see patients in the clinic setting and was limiting access for patients to safely doctors for routine visits. But sincere the pandemic the medical boards has promoted the use of telemedicine and has been a popular options for patients.
Currently, North Tex MedCare Clinic has temporarily converted to using telemedicine to see patients regular during this Covid-19 pandemic. The clinic will eventually be back open to see patients regularly but will be using telemedicine regular as a option as well.
Basically over 80% of visits that is seen in urgent care can be done through the use of telemedicine. There are situations, and conditions that being seen in the clinic is recommended and staff and physician will defer to let you know if it necessary to be seen in the clinic for.
What is needed for a telemedicine visit?
A cellphone, iPad, or computer with good internet connection to do a telemedicine visit.
How does it work
- Register online to confirm an appointment or call us for on demand consult
- Staff will assist you to connect you to a doctor by video or phone.
- After consulting you will pick up your prescription from your pharmacy or get instructions on how to proceed afterwards.
